People:
Dr. Shimrit Daches, Head of Lab
Why do some people find it difficult to regulate their negative mood? My research suggests that there are important behavioral, cognitive, and physiological processes that underlie maladaptive emotion regulation related to risk for depression. We are interested in further exploring the relationship between these underlying processes. We are currently also working on the development of interventions for individuals at risk for depression that aim at changing key underlying processes. My previous work also raise important questions in relation to how emotion regulation changes over distinct developmental periods and what are the cognitive and physiological changes that assist this change. We are interested in processes by which biological and cognitive correlates of emotion regulation are formed, taking into consideration the contexts in which these phenomena are rooted.
